Press ReleasesVOYENCE CUSTOMER VERICENTER RETOOLS TO ADDRESS GOVERNMENT IT COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTSManaged Service Provider Held Responsible For Customers’ Internet Commerce ProcessesRichardson, Texas, March 2, 2007 – Voyence, a pioneer in automated network change and configuration management (NCCM) solutions, today announced Managed Service Provider (MSP) and customer, VeriCenter, has selected VoyenceControl to unify seven national data centers and provide dashboard visibility for internal and external adherence to PCI, SAS-70, SOX, and government IT compliance mandates. VeriCenter's redesign is in response to their customers' increasing dependence on Internet commerce and the U.S. Government’s tightening of IT regulations. “As a condition of business today, our customers need to perform more electronic exchanges that involve sending and storing consumer data. Because of this, they are subject to PCI, SAS-70 and SOX audits on a regular basis and we are automatically pulled into these audits because our customers are using VeriCenter's shared network services,” said Bill McDonald, director of enterprise network engineering and architecture for VeriCenter. Organizations considering outsourced services are now asking MSPs if they are capable of detailing their compliance adherence as well as assist them with specific IT audit paperwork. McDonald continues, “At audit time, our customers come to us and say ‘here are the 40 lines you need to fill out for an audit because we are using your data centers.’ It all comes back to who is responsible for the network. Voyence helps us fulfill these new requirements by documenting VeriCenter’s IT compliance adherence and provide reports to simplify our customers' auditing process.” To improve the quality of service, VeriCenter is unifying its network management processes among data centers in Atlanta, Ga., Boston, Mass., Dallas, TX, Denver, CO, Houston, TX and St Paul, MN. The MSP will deploy VoyenceControl at each location to automate the process of gathering a significant network change and configuration instances (crucial data needed for preserving business services and tightening network security) from each network device in the infrastructure. All data will be fed back to the Atlanta site, creating an information hub where informed decisions can be made to ensure high network availability and honor Service Level Agreements (SLAs). The unification process will be conducted over a two-year period and include several key phases that require existing product integration with BMC®’s Remedy® trouble ticketing offering and IBM Tivoli® Netcool®’s root cause and network fault isolation capabilities.
VeriCenter's three-phased rollout entails:
“Automating the change and configuration management process has become the foundation for ensuring networks are secure and aligned with government IT mandates,” said Darren Orzechowski, vice president of marketing, Voyence. “VeriCenter’s VoyenceControl deployment underscores the need for MSPs to simplify the management of their complex IT infrastructures while driving new business through IT compliance reporting.”
