Voyence Assembles
a Strategic Business Advisory Council
Industry experts to assist executives with strategic business
initiatives.
Richardson, TX, February 9, 2004
— Voyence™ Inc., the leading provider of
configuration management solutions for large, heterogeneous
networks, today announced the creation of a new strategic
business advisory council. Council members will provide the
executive team with direction surrounding vertical market
opportunities, strategic investments, alliances, research
and development, sales, marketing, and other critical business
initiatives.
Members of the advisory council have served on influential
government committees and have held senior level positions
at companies such as Hewlett-Packard, Sprint, AMR, Proctor
& Gamble, The SABRE Group, Oracle, Netscape and more.
The advisory council will hold meetings on a regular basis,
be accessible to Voyence executives for consultation, and
introduce the management team to professional colleagues within
their networks.

The council consists of Dick Berger, Joseph Gersch, Max Hopper,
Michael Jack, and Lynne Smith.
Mr. Dick Berger
Dick Berger is an independent management and network operations
consultant. He was previously the Director of Managed Network
Services for Sprint Corporation in Reston, Virginia, a position
he held for nearly seven years. Prior to joining Sprint, Berger
was the Director of Network Management Technologies at SRA
International in Fairfax, Virginia. He also spent 26 years
in the U.S. Marine Corps retiring as a Colonel in 1992. In
his last major assignment, he was a Director with the Defense
Information Systems Agency in Europe, managing network and
switch operations for the Defense Department. Berger has a
Bachelor’s Degree from MacMurray College and a Master’s
Degree in Information Systems Engineering from The George
Washington University.
Mr. Joseph Gersch
Joseph Gersch is an independent Consultant with over 24 years
experience with Hewlett-Packard where he managed both research
and development and marketing departments that delivered innovative
products across a wide range of technologies, including; HP
OpenView, HP Smart Card Center, HP Enterprise Networking and
Security, as well as HP Engineering Workstations, CD Writer,
Tape Storage Products and HP UX. Mr. Gersch has a B.S. in
Computer Science at the University of Michigan and an M.S.
in Computer Science from Colorado State University.
Mr. Max Hopper
Max Hopper founded, Max D. Hopper Associates, after retiring
from AMR Corporation. His time at AMR spanned more than two
decades where he served in numerous capacities including Chairman
of the SABRE Group and Senior Vice President of the company.
Mr. Hopper also brings significant experience in the airline
industry where his involvement in automating travel agencies
led to him being named the “Father of Automation”
in that industry. In 1992, Mr. Hopper was recognized by Computerworld
as one of the top 25 who made the greatest contributions in
the field of information science and in 1999, CIO Magazine
recognized him as one of the decade’s 12 most influential
IS executives.
Rt. Hon. Michael Jack MP
Rt. Hon. Michael Jack MP, hails from England where he has
served as a Member of Parliament for Fylde, Lancashire, since
1987. During his tenure, Rt. Hon. Michael Jack MP has served
in numerous capacities, most recently receiving an appointment
as Chairman of the Environment and Rural Affairs Select Committee.
Prior to entering Parliament, he was sales director of L.O.
Jeff’s, Ltd. Additionally, he was part of the management
team at Proctor and Gamble and Marks and Spencer. He has also
served on the Eastern Area Electricity Consultative Council
and has been a member of the Mersey Regional Health Authority.
Ms. Lynne Smith
Lynne Smith has held management positions at webMethods, AOL/Netscape,
Oracle, and Texas Instruments. She has extensive technology
sales and management experience and has built several successful
selling organizations. In recognition of her success at Oracle
Corporation, Mrs. Smith was an Oracle Club Excellence Award
Winner for seven consecutive years. Smith’s core-competencies
also include contract negotiations, customer service, strategic
alliance development, and international business operations.
She has extensive experience within the technology, communications,
retail, transportation and manufacturing industries. Mrs.
Smith serves as an active board member for the Greater Dallas
Chamber of Commerce Executive Women’s Roundtable and
is on the Advisory Board for Menttium Corporation. She is
an alumni of Leadership America and is a past board member
of Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Texas.
